State Action for Education Leadership Project (SAELP) Grant
Nearly five years ago, the Commonwealth joined 14 states in a multi-million dollar mission to improve leadership in public schools: the State Action for Educational Leadership Project (SAELP).
Created by The Wallace Foundation in 2001, SAELP is a dual-phase grants initiative assisting states in the development and the implementation of policies and laws designed to enhance the capacity of school principals and superintendents to improve student performance.
As a service to the Virginia educational policy community, including legislators, educators, school board members and parents, CEPI is now providing policy briefs and legislative histories available free at www.cepionline.org. These short summaries of current issues are information packed. Although these briefs do not advocate specific positions or legislative proposals, they will prove helpful to all involved in important public policy dialogue.
CEPI is the Commonwealth Educational Policy Institute, a partnership of Virginia Commonwealth University’s Center for Public Policy and School of Education. For more information, browse the CEPI Web site at www.cepionline.org. Be sure to examine the wide range of policy services available through CEPI. For additional details, contact us!
