The Legislative Services Network was initiated in June 1999.
The Network is composed of the legislative educational chairpersons
and legislative services staff from six mid-Atlantic and Southern
states. The network meets annually to examine common policy
and legislative issues affecting education and serves as a
resource to each member state in policy research, issue experience,
and legislative history. A second multistate legislative network
conference is being planned for June 2000 with the joint sponsorship
of the Appalachia Educational Laboratory (AEL).
