Religion and Facility Use

Recent Virginia Legislation History

The General Assembly has had very little foray into the realm of religion and facility use. In 2000, HB 1212 was introduced to allow local school boards to make agreements with the Jewish Community Center in Richmond to provide transportation to and from events offered in connection with the Maccabi Games from August 13–18, 2000. However, this bill was revised (and later approved) to amend 22.1-131 to expand the already permitted use of school property to include vehicles.
